The bio-, health- and welfare business has had an internationally known cluster raised in the Oulu region during the past few years. The so called life science industry’s combined revenue in the Oulu region is nearly 300 million euros in 2010 with 1400 social and health care service providers and 180 such companies functioning in the industry.
The growth prospects are exceptional with the industry possessing numerous opportunities regarding global trends in, for example aging, food safety and climate change.
