Biofuel processing company Green Fuel Nordic has begun the structural design of a bio oil refinery together with a construction design agency Insinööritoimisto Savolainen. The refinery will be built to Iisalmi, Finland and will be ready to start the production in autumn 2014.
The earthmoving works start in spring 2013. Construction of the plant employs 300 people and the refinery will employ approximately 100 people when completed.
The refinery will use wood to produce bio oil that can be used as a substitute fuel oil in different heating solutions. The costs of the plant will amount to € 50 million. Green Fuel Nordic is planning to build 20 bio plants to Finland. (Source: www.tekniikkatalous.fi, 4.1.2013)
