Finns Developed New Nano Cleansing Technique

04.04.2013

Finnish researchers succeeded to develop new nano-pore based water cleansing system which could significantly lower the costs of water cleansing. Current sewage and salt water cleansing methods are either very expensive or energy consuming. Nano-pore diaphragms are seen as a promising way to cleanse water but until now they have been very expensive, one square meter can cost thousands of euros.

For five years, the matter has been investigated in Energy and Material Engineering unit of Arcada University of Applied Sciences. Now there has been a breakthrough: according to Head of Department Ph.D. Mikael Paronen, they succeeded to produce nanoscale pores with the chosen method and based on technology that was thought to be scientifically impossible.
