Finnish Company Starts Producing A Composite Airplane

15.08.2014

Finnish company Atol Avion is going to start the production of a new lightweight aircraft in Rovaniemi this autumn. Prototype development of the Atol amphibious aircraft started in 2011 and the production is now waiting for a permit from the European Aviaton Safety Agency.

The competitive advantage of Atol is the aircrafts composite wood structure. This makes the aircraft lighter, weighing 50-100kg less than the competing producers’ models, thus it can carry more cargo. The company has already four binding orders confirmed.
