The forestry industry’s production and exports are showing signs of improvement in the first half of this year. Forestry industry exports have grown 1.6 % and the amount of total production has increased. Especially the production of sawn timber grew by 4 % and exports by nearly 9 %.
Paper industry’s export of pulp grew by over 5 % in the first half of the year. Also, timber has been purchased 4 % more in the first half of this year than in the same time period in 2013. (Source: www.tekniikkatalous.fi, 7.8.2014)
