Finnish Technology Industry's Future Looks Promising

The latest Finnish technology industry review reveals that technology industry companies’ turnover rose 2 % during 2014 but the employee amount declined 3 % due to streamlining operations. Factory industry invested a total of 3.6 billion euros in Finland.

During 2015, the technology industry expects investments from GE and Samsung, which are planning to concentrate healthcare technology research and development activities to Finland. Forest companies are starting over billion euro pulp and bio product plant investments and the government has promised its support for improving the road infrastructure for the planned to be built Sokli phosphorus mine in eastern Lapland.

Other promising plans include foreign datacenter companies building data servers worth of billions of euros in Finland. There are also plans to build several LNG terminals to the Finnish coast. (Source: www.tekniikkatalous.fi, 3.2.2015)
