Finland Doubles Wind Power Capacity With Record Investments

There was a record amount of over half a billion euros invested to wind power in Finland in 2015. Wind power production doubled from 2014 figures to 2.3 TWh, which accounts to roughly half of electricity consumed in the capital city Helsinki or 2.8 % of the total electricity consumption of Finland.

There were 124 new wind power plants built with a capacity of 379 MW. Now, the total capacity is 1005 MW and there are 387 wind power plants in Finland.
