Finnish Industries’ Orders Grew Clearly During 2017

The number of new orders for Finnish industries grew almost 15 % between January - November 2017, when compared to the previous year. The best performing was metal sector which recorded an order growth of 21 %. Paper industry’s orders grew six percent and only chemistry industry showed signs of decline as the order amounts decreased less than one percent. On the other hand, chemistry industry was one of highlights in 2016.

Finnish sawn timber exports reached a new record in 2017 with over 9 million cubic meters of exports. Exports to China are doing exceptionally well as they reached 1.7 million cubic meters tracking a growth of 60 % from the previous year.
