Turku Shipyard Receives Another Major Investment

German Meyer doubles the investments to be made at the Turku shipyard. The company has previously announced investments of €75 million and now it will use another €110 million for modernization. The investments are part of Meyer’s goal to triple the shipyard’s capacity from 2014 level.

The investments include sheet preparation line, profile production line, automated profile warehouse, and a panel line based on laser hybrid technology. The investments will be completed by the end of 2018 and in the beginning of 2019. Turku shipyard’s order books are filled till 2024 and after the investments the shipyard’s production will meet the production demand. (Source: Tekniikka & Talous 6.9.2017)
