Shipyard company STX Finland has received another large cruise ship order from German TUI Cruises shipping company. The order’s impact in Turku shipyard is approximately 5 500 man-years.
Construction of the cruise chip will begin in STX Finland’s Turku shipyard in summer 2013 and they are supposed to deliver it to TUI Cruises in spring 2015. The cruise ship will be nearly 300 meters length and there will be cabins for 2 500 passengers and for 1 000 staff members.
STX Finland’s Operational Manager Mr. Jari Anttila informs in their company bulletin that they are beginning the construction of the first cruise ship. Now they can start preparing the second project more efficiently than earlier. (Source: www.taloussanomat.fi, 5.11.2012)
