29.02.2012

According to an American business magazine, Business Week, Estonia is a proof that it can be beneficial for a country to be a part of the Euro zone.

After joining the Euro zone at the beginning of 2011, Estonia’s is the fastest growing economy in the Euro area. According to estimates, the country’s GDP grew by 7, 9 per cent in 2011.

Business Week lists low interests and close economic relationships with Finland as the reasons behind the success and continues to explain that certain Finnish companies have been moving their production to Estonia more than before as the cost level of Estonia is nearly half cheaper than the cost level of Finland. (Source: www.kauppalahti.fi, 09.02.2012)
