Finland’s Hospitals Are Building And Repairing

02.03.2016

There are dozens of hospital building projects at planning or construction stage in Finland. These include expansions renovations, new buildings and completely new hospitals. It is estimated that these projects account to almost €4 billion.

Practically, every central hospital has an on-going project. The hospitals are preparing for the social and health reformation which will determine 12 full service emergency duty hospitals.

Many of the Finnish hospitals were built in the 1960s and they do not meet the criteria for modern hospitals. Also, many hospital expansions built in the 1980s have air quality problems. (Source: www.tekniikkatalous.fi, 12.12.2015)
