Finnish car manufacturer Valmet Automotive is planning to start large series production of electric vehicle batteries in Salo. The goal is to start the production already during 2019. Salo IoT Campus has ready infrastructure and premises for the planned production plant, as it used to host Nokia’s mobile phone manufacturing facilities.
The battery factory would employ over 300 people and it would also have a big effect on the developing Finnish battery cluster. (Tekniikka & Talous, 28.2.2019)
